rnrnrnGood guidebooks on Chinese pregnancy and confinement are hard to find. I’ve come across several books available from the cheaper bookstores but don’t entirely believe the recommendations available in those books. Some of these are specifically tailored for moms who live in countries which have the four seasons and the foods and confinement practices are for cold climate.rnrnThen, the locally written confinement books are too ‘granny type of advices’ and that too, I don’t like the idea of too much meats and oily stuffs in the cooking. rnrnSo, what I have gained from five confinements are instinct of how my body reacted to certain foods and I have formulated my own menu which is a mix of Chinese, Indian and Malay style of cooking. The main ingredients are lots of herbs and fragrant roots like the ginger, cekur and tumeric.rnrnI’ve put a recommended book available from Amazon. It is more for Westerners who are interested to learn how Chinese moms treat their post-natal period. Do read ‘cos it is very interesting compared to the Western ways which isn’t as elaborate.
